Louisa got her first pair of tennis shoes tonight! She took her first shuffle, shuffle steps earlier in the day! She will walk with our help just about anywhere but today was a new milestone!

Pretty in Pink

louisa in Garden City... we had a mini vacation and enjoyed the last days of summer- 80 degrees. The next morning we woke up to 53 degrees!

Finding Balance

Louisa is standing on her own now but not taking steps yet. She is finding her balance and is now able to stand and do things like drink her bottle. This video was taken in the evening so she is a little whiney because she and Blair had been rough-housing for a while. She was making us laugh because she is trying to stand and find her balance on the bed- too cute. I especially love when she raises her hands up when she thinks she is balanced. She is SO BUSY! We love it!

Funny Faces

Louisa is starting to be a real "parrot" and develop her own personality. She and Blair play funny face games during the day. In this video she shows us part of her funny chewing face. She does this funny over exaggerated chew... it takes a few seconds to see it and its really quick so enjoy but dont blink!

Cute Girl!

This photo is a little blurry but it still makes it point. Blair asked me to buy Louisa some "outdoor overalls" that she can crawl around in outside without the worry of getting dirty. So we hit the boys section of Target and got this stylish pair of overalls- hysterical! Blair said she had a blast crawling around in the dirt.

Okay, Louisa is figuring out things to do with her fingers like pointing to everything and unfortunately picking her nose. Luckily, this has been a rare occurance so far. We were trying to get a picture of her in this outfit and we were given this treat instead... if nothing else it provides a good laugh (hope nobody is too grossed out!)

Camp Daddy!

Now that I am back to work full time, Blair has begun "Camp Daddy"! We are so lucky that is job gives us the freedom to do that. On Monday, however, this was the scene- too funny! The one good thing that came out of the chaos... THE MISSING SHOE!!!

That shoe has been the death of me! I have torn the house apart! There it sat, on the floor, under the drawer! Next time I am looking for something I will remember to look in and UNDER the drawers!

Here is the boo girl pulling up on EVERYTHING! How exciting, but exhausting- she is so curious! It is amazing to watch her crawl all over and now find the courage and strength to stand!!

Louisa stands unaided for the first time!

Amy and I were home Tues evening watching Lulu when she grabbed on to the chest where her toys were, crabbed up and pulled to her feet -- we were so surpised! The first time and we were both watching.

Then she proceeded to try to push all the buttons on the stereo.

I got this shirt for Louisa in honor of Blair- this is a "stay at home" outfit but isnt it funny?? In case you cant tell those are hot pink and black electric guitars on her shirt- hee hee

Louisa'a new baby doll...

For her 1st birthday, Blair and I gave Louisa her very first baby doll.
I think she gave it her seal of approval when she licked her head
and then poked her eyes out. She did try to share her bottle with the baby doll- too cute!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOUISA!!!

Louisa turned ONE on August 19th! What a difference a year makes! We had a cupcake themed party for our family and neighbors. Marmee made this fabulous cake to look like a giant cupcake (and like the invitation- she is so talented!). She also made the minature cake for Louisa to dig into herself! The party started out raining but quickly cleared up for everyone to enjoy a BBQ dinner outside. Louisa was amazing and seemed to love every minute especially the balloons!
